SINNAD personalises all types of cards (domestic payment cards, as well as MasterCard and VISA), and supplies high-quality products to all financial institutions, we currently support the following printing methods embossing, indenting, and laser engraving.
Laser engraving is the latest, most advanced and most secure technology for printing the client information on the card. It removes material from the top surface of a plastic card down to a specified depth. The personalised data is “burned” into the card, and therefore protected against fading. The technique does not involve the use of inks and can be applied on one or both sides of the cards (if the plastic is laminated with laser overlay).
Embossing: Most credit cards are personalized using the embossing method. In the past, when credit card transactions were generally approved by making a physical imprint of the numbers via carbon packets and a “zip zap” machine, embossing was necessary, but today it is simply a manufacturing habit.
Embossing enhances the overall imprint of the card, creating a sense of quality and value. When cards are embossed they receive a three-dimensional effect, and the raised letters and numbers can be coated with a variety of coloured inks such as gold, silver, black or white. Cards can only be embossed on one side, and the data are easily readable by the human eye.
Indent printing is a classic method of personalization for banking cards. Indent foils (ribbons) offer easy release and crisp definition for indent printing of security codes and other characters, both directly on the card stock and on the signature panel.
The indent printing machines have first and second indenting mechanisms and use first and second indent printing ribbon cartridges to enable indent printing on both sides of the cards. Indent foils are available in white and black.
